Just received facelift - Yoshikane Damascus SLD 210mm Gyuto & 150mm Petty.

..by SA knifemaker Gareth Bull.

Man, I have yet to find a knife with such superb geometry - far from a laser, but glides through everything with no stiction.

:)

Man those handles are slick. I hope the Richmond damascus is a close relative in capabilities to you Kaneheros.

Both my units are Yoshikane SLD (SKD11) series @ 64 Rc - also thinner than the average Yoshikane.

I believe it is totally different from the CKTG units - also plenty $$$$$ more!

:)

Miswrote meant Yoshikane. I guess I'm just more hoping that they carry over some of the positive aspects.

ROOK <> I really dig the inverse Damascus above & below the shinogi. In concert with the inverse handles... beautiful design & attention to detail. My favorite facet though is the rise of the shinogi at the tip end leaving that atypically large bevel.

I would ask what these cost all said and done but am scared to know as I likely will never be able to afford them.
