Great resource here,,,
So I got the 8 pc set with the Beston, Ume, and Rika stones. My question (1st one) is can these be perma soaked or should I let them dry out between uses?

I've perma soaked the beston and the rika and they are not a problem but i normally don't do this at home, just the office.

I tried out the ume for a few days after your question and it's fine too.

Thanks for checking and replying.
I am having a blast with these stones, everything is so sharp around here I hafta keep reminding the family! As a country boy, we were always sharpening our knifes on some stone or another but this is so much nicer.
Thanks again for the reply.

I have the Green Brick of Joy and the Beston 500. Can I perma soak those two?

MIKEY <> You can permasoak the 500; the 2k just doesn't need nor benefit from it.

I have had my green brick under water for over a year with no issue. If taken out of water at this point it would probably crack though.
I don't like waiting for stones to soak so if they can be soaked I usually do so.

I almost want to perma soak my Latte 400, crazy bastard takes like 4 days to dry.

That's one of the biggest reasons I don't like Nubatama stones. I don't like to perma soak and those damn stones take a week to dry!
