The problem is like mckemaus said it just doesn't stay on. Look at my picture, that fading 16K in sharpie was from you. The 6k stone has already completely lost the marking you put on it. If there is a permanent marker that is more permanent than the Sharpie please do tell. ;)

I've even tried the "INDUSTRIAL SUPER PERMANENT INK" version of the Sharpie and it doesn't hold up either.
