I just bought a Konosuke Hd2 270 and I'm interested in buying upgrading my sharpening kit.
I'm interested in expanding my range with one more coarse and one more fine stone.
I am currently using Shapton 1000 and 4000 GlassStones and to work on my Mac and Tojiro DP and have been happy with those but my skills are improving and I'd like something that I can keep a finer edge on this new knife with. I've been looking at the Arishiyama 6000 (which I've read can perform up to almost an 8000 level?) but I'm not sure if this is taking it far enough past the 4000?
For a coarser stone I have been looking at the Beston 500 which seems to be well loved.
so that would be:
Shapton Glass 1000
Shapton Glass 4000
Both of these stones are reasonably priced and seem like good values.
any thoughts or suggestions?

Personal preference here. I would stick with the Shapton Glass and get the 320 instead of a 500. The 320 cuts a little faster than the 500 and is slightly more versatile with repairs, Plus-->Now that you have gone splash-n-go I'm not sure you would like the soak time and how long it takes for the Bestor to dry. It's almost a permasoak stone.
The Arashiyama is probably my favorite polishing stone to date. It does polish well beyond it's 6k rating and would be fine after your 4k. It can be used as a plash-n-go and dries very quickly when finished using it.

Thanks, Jeff. That makes the Arashiyama an easy decision.
When I look for the coarse Shapton Glass, though, I am finding either a 220 Glass stone or a 320 Shapton Pro. Is either one of these the stone to which you were referring or is there another that is not currently listed? I'm sure that any one of these would suit my purpose but is there one of these that is strongly preferable over the other?

Yes I was referring to the Shapton Glass Stone that Steve listed.
