Believe me, I know how frustrating it can be doing multiple takes when making videos. I've seen you comment on just how many takes you did to complete some of those videos. I'm always impressed by the fun you have during your presentation, and the genuine excitement about using these knives, regardless of how many takes you may or may not have used to get them done.
Thanks for doing all these video reviews. I understand just how much time and energy can be poured into making them. They are a great resource for all current and future CKTG customers.
Thanks a bunch Steve, that means a lot man. Comments like this keep me going. That, and the prospect of getting my dirty paws on more knives for testing. lol
I'm not sure what the steel is yet. Haven't sharpened it yet. The side of the box says SKD somewhere, so possibly SKD11? But normally Konosuke doesn't work with that steel, so more than likely it's going to be White #2.
So now I'm curious Shaun - does Mark just send you prototypes/mystery knives and want you to test them out unbiased by steel type, etc.? Or does Konosuke not tell Mark the technical details of a new knife right away. Or is Mark just so busy that you don't get details until later .
similar to yoshikane then if it's skd11.... interesting. i wonder which is cheaper and better performers.

These knives are actually production knives that will be on the site soon if I'm not mistaken. I just don't know for sure what it is, normally we know what everything is before it comes in.
At the moment I actually have a couple of Tetsuhiro Hand-hammered in white #1 for testing.. near identical grind, going to do a video comparing them very soon, a lot of fun comparing these beautiful knives.
