That looks amazing! O.O
Does it add a lot of weight to the handle?

Hey everyone, thanks for all your great comments. This is my first attempt at using this stuff and hopefully my next handles will be even better. The new to me material I've been experimenting with is called Timascus from Alpha knife supply. They take different titanium alloys and fold it like steel damascus. I first saw it looking around youtube and knew I had to get some. The color comes from anodiziing with volts of direct current (DC volt). Basically you set the titanium in a water bath of phosphates then add the DC volts. The blue on my handle was set at 21 volts. So the last picture in my post shows the various colors at different volts. You can also heat anodize using a torch, but for my application heating the timascus would melt the glue off the wood. Needless to say, I'm pretty stoked about this stuff. I only wish I had more time to dedicate to handle making...but damn day job!!!
Pete - Let's hook up sometime. Come to my workshop and bring a knife. We can make a simple handle in about 3 hours.
DefMunkey - titanium is 40% lighter than steel, but the handle is still a little heavier than normal. It does help balance the larger blades though.
