New CKtG Cutting Boards

Wed Aug 08, 2012 6:13 pm

Hey Folks,

As some of you know, Mark has ordered a small, custom-lot of cutting boards from LoneStar Artisans exclusively for Chef Knives to Go. These are hand-made (by me) end-grain cutting boards, and I strive to make the absolute best quality boards that can be made. Though I'll leave it to Mark to display the final product, I thought it would be fun to show a couple WIP pics as I build them. In the midst of the batch are boards for forum members Buchi, 'Chester,' and Taz (if you look closely).

I'm excited about these boards. I hope you are too!

Best,
John

Yep, they're in there. In fact, you inspired an experiment. I'm sending Mark a batch of Baby Boards to see if people are interested. Seems to me that a chef might not always want to pull out the big kahuna cutting board. If you're just slicing a lemon or chopping an onion, it might be nice to grab a smaller board for that task.

I'll leave it to Mark to decide whether or not to call these, 'Baby Boards' or not. He might be able to come up with something more professional sounding

LOL. I love my big board, but I will probably end up getting a 12x12 or something like that for the smaller chores as well. I have a 12x12 cheap board and it's nice for cutting up 1 or 2 things, but I want something nicer. I can never have enough boards!!!

I've got a couple more WIP pics, but can't figure out how to upload them... Maybe it's a permissions thing.

I usually put pics up on Photobucket and then post the link with this codeing:
