anyone familiar with Nenox/Nehoni knives? Ive been considering purchasing one(unfortunately CKTG doesn't sell them...) but want some second opinions. Im open to rival suggestions as well.
looking at the 210 Gyuto g-type and the 150mm Corian petty.

Cody - IMO if you're not married to a Western handle as on the G-Type, you can get a lot more performance & value for that money with some of CKTG's offerings. Mark has some killer Gyuto's in the $150 - 250 range. Tell us more about your preferences and for what purposes, etc. and you'll get some good recommendations here...

I am not familiar with that particular knife and it is hard to make head to head comparisons without some information about what specifically you like about those two knives. If you would address the following questions, with an eye toward what interests you about the Nenox, we may be better able to assess what does or doesn't work about those knives, and what other options there may be.
1. Are you right handed?
2. What type of knife are you interested in (gyuto, nakiri etc..)
3. What size knife are you looking for?
4. Do you prefer carbon or stainless steel?
5. Do you prefer a western handle or a Japanese handle?
6. How much did you want to spend?
7. Do you know how to sharpen?

I have several knives but as you all know, the collection never ends.
I have both western handle knives and wa handle knives. Mostly kikuichi, fujiwara(carbon series), Richmond Artifex and one Doi Deba.
looking for another 210mm gyuto and either a 150mm petty or Honesuki.
I use my petty and gyuto pretty heavily everyday on the line. My petty gets the most work.
open to suggestions. Not wanting to spend more than about $350-400.
I was just curious about the nenox because they garner so much press and they are so high in price, that it makes one wonder if tey are really that great.

Cody - without knowing more about your specific preferences here are some suggestions. Keep in mind, I favor taller Pettys that handle more like mini Gyutos.

I've owned one Nenox - a 230 sujihiki. They are very nice knives, but it's hard to justify the astronomical prices. I bought mine gently used from a fellow knife knut, otherwise I never would have spent that kind of cash on one.
If you like the blade profiles, the Hattori FH series are virtual clones of the Nenox except for the buttcap on the handle. In both sharpening and use I could not tell the difference between the Nenox stainless and the Hattori VG-10. We used to sell the nenox with the corian handles and I liked them very much. Excellent fit and finish. They were slow sellers because of the pricing on them but besides that I thought they were excellent.
We also used to sell the Hattori FH which were also very nice but again overpriced. Not as nice as the Nenox and the handles felt strange to me but all and all a nice knife. These sold better for us.

R-2 steel is an excellent powdered stainless steel and have better wear resistance than the above and these are less than half the price with outstanding fit and finish. We're going to sell these really well.

What about the yoshimune 210mm, kanehiro, or takeda?
I'm pretty interested in the goko 150mm petty

The Nenox knives, any of them really, left nothing on the table F&F wise. Absolutely flawless in that department.
Some of the woods they use, as well as bone and corian and...., were nice as well.
Past that, the blades are great in some departments and good in others. Where the blade shines is the profile and geometry.....both very nice. Where they're just good is the steel. It's an okay stainless....nothing more.
The gripe, obviously, is their pricing. Super expensive for what you get.
The Goko petty is very nice. I'm not a huge fan of the handle, but it works and isn't terrible.
Never seen the Yoshimune knives....can't help there.
The Kanehiro's are nice that I've seen. But are you asking about the Ginsanko or the AS version?
Takeda is a perpetual favorite of mine. Very thin at and behind the edge. Nice rustic look. And from all accords, a great guy to boot. I've always said, eventually every knife nut has to own a Takeda.
But, Takeda versus Kanehiro is tough no matter which model. Different knives in a lot of ways. Both good cutters.
