I like mukizu, but I think there is a Chinese company making a line of stainless knife with that name.

I like Yusuzumi! Sounds elegant and somehow the name makes me hungry. :D

Musashi? Miramoto Musashi is the most famous and regarded as the best and most famous samurai in Japanese history.

Kind of why I left those names alone. Kind of felt like "stealing" to me. Pretty famous to the Japanese.

Mark, in my opinions the best names you can use for a Japanese knife or knives you design are 1. "Richmondichi" and/or 2. "Richmondoto". They both sound interesting and Japanese, and would put your pedigree on the knives.

artisan - 職人 (Shokunin)

Kinda goes in line with the Artifex series and reflects the hand made nature of the knives.

I don't know about the stealing thing, wouldn't think so, but I would think old Mushashi would be proud to have his name on a superior highest-quality Japanese knife named after him. Seemed kinda fitting, I thought. Also, thought the knife maker in Japan would enjoy putting his effort into the making of something special with MM's name on it.

P.S.
MM practiced stealing to improve his stealth ability. After almost getting caught a bunch of times, he got better and better at it. Probably could have stolen an apple from your mouth without you knowing it.

I can't say I disagree, Those were just my first thoughts. I figured at some point the name would come up.
Those were just my thoughts at the time. Who could really say what's right or wrong in this situation.Image
