Chosera!!! I also have the nubatama ume 1k and the chosera wins for me hands down. Holds water better, doesn't load badly, good scratch pattern and fast cutting. Just my opinion though

You may consider the Chosera 800, corresponds more or less to a 1.2k JIS. Very versatile.

I went for the Shapton Pro 1k. Used it last night after my Beston 500. Felt great.
I still have a lot of holes to fill on my progressions, but I am temporarily happy.
