The amount of mustard, type of mustard, and probably even the brand of mustard could affect the outcome. The time it was left on the blade also has an affect to the finished look. Plus I have had knives come out not so hot and had to polish them up and try again for better results. Not with the bubble wrap method, but with designs dabbed on/drawn on in yellow mustard. Same thing though. lol

I don't think you missed anything obvious, it just seems to be as much luck of the draw sometimes (and possibly the steel in that particular knife) as the method used.

Take a look at Mark's video. That's the way I did it.

Great lineup.
I love the forced patina, I want to try doing that technique one day.

Can I ask what is the handle for the 150 petty? Great collection. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone!

Coach, the handle on the 150 mm petty is a wa one. I don't know which wood. CKTG currently have a ho wood version in their store, but I don't think it's ho wood.

Chef. I like the petty a lot. It's the perfect size between a 210 mm gyuto and a paring knife. Great for deboning and other jobs.
