I got the Mrknife Fanatic set last Xmas and it was a great upgrade over what I had been using (a 1000/5000 combo stone I got from Woodcraft for $40 or so). The latte cuts quickly and I get a nice edge from the green brick, good enough to use. I am finishing with the snow white and don't bother to strop any more. I think I paid$195, so it's a bit pricier now at $250, but it is a very nice set.

Very glad you like the set, I can't believe how popular it got but it seems that everyone has had a great experience with them.

Yes, I believe I've heard it might not be coming back as well. Hmmmm, now we must find a suitable replacement for the latte. It needs to be something that cuts nearly as fast and plays well with the Green Brick. I have a few candidates in mind and will get to testing shortly. If anyone has input I'm game to listen as well! :)

Chocera 400 would be nice but damn the price of those stones! Shapton Glass 500,320 or Pro 320 would be next on my list.

Thank Jeff! I think Glass Stones are probably out of the question for this set, I think it should be something that is more familiar to people with a little more height. The 320 Pro is a very good choice actually. Not only that but the stone base would work for the other 2 stones as well. Hmmm... :ugeek:

Shapton 320, Green Brick, Snow White? :D

I don't own a 320 pro (have used one though), but the glass actually does leave a similar finish to the pro IMO for 320, although the pro makes more mud. I have a 15k pro that I'll see if the green brick fits the holder right fast. Brb!

I have a Pro 320 and it's one of my favorites.

Well, the Green Brick and Snow white fit the base with no problem, but herein lies the issue:

The Shapton 320 is already part of a kit, and it's commonly out of stock. I don't believe that adding this stone would solve our all-too-common logistics problem of it being out of stock. So alas, the hunt continues for another stone. Darn

Okay, just read a review on the Latte 400 and someone said the Naniwa baseless 400 feels about the same but cheaper, and we already know that SuperStones tend to leave a finer edge so it might play well with the Green Brick. I need to get my hands on one now. This would be great because the Naniwa 400 is not currently part of a set just like the Green Brick and Snow White. :) AND, it would be an all Naniwa set as well. We just might be able to save this combo.

Okay, we ended up with the Iminishi 400 grit. Almost the exact same stone as the latte, only thicker!
