My wife would bury me with them after she stabbed me once with each, but hey, I'm not a Pro Chef either.

Nice Mel, Very Nice! :ugeek:

TRINI <> Black steel.

PADDY <> I own plenty of knives that are not on CKTG's menu, but I am loyal to CKTG.

Hi Mel.
I have just been given a knife that looks a lot like your 2 Forgecraft.

It has an 8" blade stamped - Taiwan.

I just gave it the first sharpen and am very pleased that it has got a rather nice edge to it now.
Admittedly that's the opinion of a neophyte sharpener!

Can you tell me anything about this knife?

Aloha!

Forgecrafts are circa 50's cutlery made in the USA @Washington Forge. They are slightly bellied monosteel carbon at around Hrc 57-58 which have stood the test of time, and thus, have a bit of a cult following. In fact, in the not so distant future, CKTG will have Richmond replicas on the site, but I know nothing of Taiwanese replicas.

I had Matt Delosso replace their crumbling scales with new olive wood.
