Hello,

I am currently saving up to get my first gyuto and want to know a little more about these upcoming mid-techs. Do you know what kind of handles these will have? Are they all going to be different handle materials or be the same?

And what do you think of rodrigue's knives in general, I know these are not fully custom, but I assume they'll be somewhat similar to his usual stuff. I'm only cooking at home and have just recently gotten into kitchen knives but have always been interested in knives in general. Any other really good / somewhat unique gyutos that you'd recommend in the 250-350 price range would certainly be appreciated as well.

Thanks a lot,
Michael

Hi Michael,

We picked out this wood over a year ago and it's really nice and each one will be unique. This is going to be a pain in my ass to sell them this way but for you and others you will get a really nice custom handle .

Pierre's knives are really good and I expect these to be a great value and it's a unique project he and I did to make these happen. It may be another year before we do something similar. I've yet to hold one so I'm excited to try it. One of them is coming home with me...

ROOK <> I'm assuming those are they, but assuming, as well, Mark hasn't received a handled blade yet... thus, we get no photos. I'm just confirming its the same item as I really like that price point! 51mm is a bit tall for my liking in a 240, but if there are some simple no frills Wa in the mix... I'M IN!

Image, "let me find the funds." ;)

Seriously though... are they all art, or did you make any workhorse handles?

Those look great. How far out would you guess them to be from Mark getting them?

I need one about like I need a hole in the head, but I don't care. I am buying one anyway!

<Mel> They're too tall, you don't get one. [soup-nazi voice] "NO KNIFE FOR YOU!" [/soup-nazi voice] :ugeek:
