Kono 240 white #2 all the way nothing more to discuss. I love Kono's white, it takes on the coolest rainbow of colors when it patinas.

Is there a good way of ordering the konosuke w#2? or is it just a case of waiting till they become available?

You can try to contact Mark at CKTG about a custom order. I recent inquired about a Wt#2 gyuto and Mark told me due to increased demand and limited production capacity at Konosuke he has been prioritizing the more popular HD line so Wt#2 gyutos may be extremely limited availability.

so ive ordered the 240mm 'finest butcher knife' which is in some kind of SKS carbon steel, from ichimonji. It is a bit of a mystery but am looking forward to seeing what its like. Also looking into ordering either the kono w#2 or yusuke w#2. Looks like it will be a wait for either : )

Blue steel is good too...pretty much any high quality hitachi steel is going to be exceptional.
