You have already received some great recommendations.
Check the forum out, you will find numerous posts on that Damascus Goko.
A laser style knife for under a C note!
If you are looking for a light thin knife, with decent looks, the Goko would be a great choice.
Mark Richmond has relationships with many smaller knife shops in Japan.
Myself, I like the idea of buying from the smaller shops, instead of the big name brands.
You have a lot to mull over, have fun.

phillysco, I'm definitely having fun. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Goko. Thanks everyone for your help. I started this thread b/c I needed some help finding a Tojiro DP wa handle. Once I heard that it was no longer available, I thought that would be the end of it. Instead, you guys helped me find a different, more exciting knife. Thanks to you all.

The Goko is a great choice, you will be glad you got it! You certainly can't go wrong at $99. Just try and order fast if you haven't already done so, as that knife is going to sell out quick.

I ordered the Goko along with an Idahone ceramic rod. Can't wait!

Congrats, you will like it very much. Do you have Sharpening stones? If not make a post over in the sharpening Q&A and the pros over there will hook you up with all kind of good options. Everything from just 1 combo stone to get started, to a complete progression of stones including strops.

The Goko is a great value, and so is the Idahone. I strongly suggest getting the 12" version-- http://www.chefknivestogo.com/id12cerodwna.html or http://www.chefknivestogo.com/sharpeningrod.html -- as well as the leather sheath -- http://www.chefknivestogo.com/shforboandid.html -- and an eraser -- http://www.chefknivestogo.com/suerccero.html.

Used properly, it's amazing how long the Idahone can maintain your edges. Anyone who doesn't have one yet should definitely think about adding it to their next order.

@Hutch - I do not have any sharpening stones as of yet. I do plan to learn how to sharpen and get some stones.

@Dan - Thanks! I'm pretty excited to see what my Goko is capable of.

@Mark - I ended up getting the 12" Idahone w/ the wooden handle. I didn't get a sheath or an eraser, but perhaps I'll get them in my next CKTG purchase.
