Looking for a good starter set of stones

Thu Dec 06, 2012 1:08 am

Hello,

I was hoping you could direct me to a few sharpening wet stones. I am not sure what grade of stones I need and would like some advice. I do know however, I would like 3 stones. One rough, one medium, and one stone as a finisher. Thank you for any information you can provide me. I plan to order from your website.

Kevin

The Nubatama 150 Bamboo, The Nubatama Bamboo 1k Gold and the Nubatama Bamboo 5k are an excellent combination at reasonable prices that are all high performance stones. Depending on your future needs you can fill in around them. The 150 for repairs and reprofiling, the 1k to establish a basic level of sharpness and the 5k to give you an edge that should more than meet your needs for general purpose sharpening as a final finish.
