Looking for a good quality general purpose knife.

Hi Mark, I've been looking at the various knives you have available and am wondering which one to purchase. I go through lots of vegetable chopping and some meat preparation (all for the home). I'm a sucker for quality so I'm not averse to spending money (actually my limit would be $400.00'ish). Can you give me some suggestions. Thanks. Ed.

Hi Ed,

Are you right handed?
Size preference?
Do you know how to sharpen?
Do you like to rock the knife or push cut primarily?
Do you want a stainless knife?
Do you want to get a western handled knife or Japanese handle?
(Price 200-400...)

Do you mind if I post your question on our forum?

Right Handed.
Size preference (around 210mm to 250'ish).
I've sharpened before, with just limited success (on DMT blocks)...so I'm very much a rookie.
I primarily push cut..
The knife doesn't have to be stainless
I like the look of the Japanese handles.
Price range up to $400.00

P.S. I did look at a video by a fella named 'Salty Dog' ...he was using a "Rodrigue" Knife that looked nice. I think his video (which was linked to your site) referred to this knife as 'Beta'
Feel free to use my question on your forum.

You have good timing. Pierre and I are working on a knife right now that fits the bill for you. He's doing them in small batches of 5 at a time every couple weeks. I can sign you up for the email notification when the next group is available if you like. Here is a look at his last few that sold last week. He makes sweet knives and these all have custom handles that are super nice:

There are many others that would fit your criteria but this is a good choice. Hang in there for one of these. They're unique.
