Taz - Can you share your thoughts on the Kono blue vs. HD(2) from personal experience? I've been eyeing the blue, and like to OP have been going back and forth between Kono and Takeda.

No. I've only used the Kono in HD a few times so far and I don't have the Fujiyama..yet. I was going to get one as a Birthday Present to myself this year, but got a Blue #2 Kono Honyaki instead
Aaron Gibson has 2 240mm Blue #2 Fujiyama's I believe and loves them.

For me there's a reason why I own two of the blue konos. They work. The grind, profile and basically every thing. I've used a takeda 215 and it was good but the kono is just a better knife personally speaking. Hope this helps.

Well, I've heard that they range from low to medium. For all of mine I would say at best medium. I had a kochi that was a bear and was reactive as all hell. Kono's are personally speaking on the lower side.

How long is the Konosuke hd 240 funayuki and the 270mm on the actual edge cause I am back and forth between the two

Probably a little under--235mm, or maybe a couple less.
