After looking at as many pics and videos as I could find, Im trying to determine if the profiles of the Konos are identical. It looks like the spine on the HD2 drops a little quicker into the tip than the Fujiyama, as if it has a pointier profile. I realize there is a difference in thickness, but its the height at the tip Im interested in.

Given the popularity of Konos on this forum I would think someone owns both?

I don't own both, but have handled both. I believe the profiles are actually a little bit different. The Fujiyama is a little bit taller than the HD, as well as having a bit flatter of a sweet spot near the heel. Someone please correct me here if I am wrong, but after handling at least a few of each this is how I best remember it.

Yeah the Fuji is taller at the heel, but Im looking for a tip comparison. Basically, I have a 240 HD, and the only thing I would change about it if the knife were heavier/thicker is to make the tip more of a curve, less of a sweep, kind of like a Kohetsu. While I would like the additional weight and heel-height of the Fuji, I woudlnt be crazy about the tip if it was the same profile as the HD.

Ask Aaron Gibson, he has like 7 or 8 Kono's! The Fujiyama are made by a different group of people than the HD/HH/White #2 series are, and will have a slightly different profile since they are made more by hand, too.
