This beauty is a real stunner and I hate to part ways with it, but I need to free up funds for a larger gyuto.
Gently used on an end grain cutting board.
Has a nice patina with low re-activity and a fantastic distal taper (starts at about 3mm and quickly drops). Handle is made from Ambonia Burl and has a nickle silver end cap and spacer along with an Ebony ferrule.
Comes with a Nenox saya and fatwood pin.
$480 new without saya..I'm asking $300 shipped priority in U.S. Payable by paypal or USPS Money order. I'll ship the day following receipt of payment. Thanks for looking.001

Nice deal for you both! Well done.
If I hadn't just ponied up for a couple of other knives I would have been all over this one.

I hear ya! I just recently acquired a Carter a couple months ago, and the shirogami is really indescribable. After working with it, I decided I have to try another shirogami to see how others forge stack up. I wanna see if Carter San is really "all that" because honestly, said knife is really un-phucking believable, and you have no idea how hard it is for me to say that!
I originally saw this post almost immediately upon its genesis & was gonna jump on it, but then I saw the burl handle which I don't do... they're just too "pretty" for me. I was so psyched & then so bummed - all within seconds!
Anyhow, super glad you're happy!

MELAMPUS<>Mr. Middlebrooks has a few really nice looking Carters... Sounds like they're cutting machines! Which other shirogami are you thinking of?

MELAMPUS<> And I'll count myself lucky that you don't like the pretty shoes! Phew!

STEEL <> It's not that I don't like them; its that I like them too much... I'd treat it like a Queen & never use the knife.
As for Shirogami, the only choice w/Mark - of which I try to give all my business - is the Konosuke Fujiyama (of which I take issue with the ebony) or the laminated Fujiwara Nashiji. I have one or two other high-ticket knives I'm looking to add to my kit first so I have no problem taking my time waiting to see what I've yet to at other markets I browse (masters, blue, woodworker, corn, mutual, epic, JC, frames, etc). BUT... I always look for good used deals here.
