Konosuke fuji blue #2

Fri Jul 06, 2012 4:37 pm

Just saw that you've got the Fujiyama knives in blue #2!
Any idea if there will be a 180mm Nakiri? That would just make my day. Got the 240 Fuji gyuto in white 2 about a month ago and it really blew me away. And now I'm looking for something to put on my knife strip between the gyuto and 150 petty and i want to try out some blue.

I was just going to come on and announce this but you beat me!

Yes if these selll I'll add more and more of the different types to the line.

We do stock some Ginsan steel knives from Konouske too:

Silver 3, Ginsanko, Gin #3 and Ginsan are all the same good stainless steel.

JP <> "Ginsanko" is a name for a highly revered stainless steel. "Fujiyama," in this context, is a line of Konosuke knives that are made by a particular bladesmith. This line is offered in your choice white steels and just recently in blue #2.

Pricing is @ http://www.chefknivestogo.com/kowhst.html and/or if you'd like a custom fabricated to your specs, contact Mark @ info@chefknivestogo.com . At least that would be my suggestion.

MARK <> ...will work for discounts. ;)
My black and white perspective may not be well liked here, but I thrive on fact & only strive to help. Twenty plus years in the fire will leave you a bit... salty. ;)

JP <> Again, and I know there is no voice inflection amid text, but Ginsanko is a type of steel. The Fujiyama line of Konosuke knives are offered in White #1, #2, & Blue #2 steels.

Furthermore, you asked how much a 240 would be. A 240 what (i.e., gyuto, usuba, yanagi, etc.)? I gave you the link to the Fujiyama series for pricing, but if you are looking for a 240mm Wa-Gyuto of Ginsanko steel, is there something you dislike about the http://www.chefknivestogo.com/kowasi24ho.html . It's currently in stock... for now. I don't buy knives on aesthetics, but look at that hamon just below the shinogi! 8-) And I wouldn't guarantee you get that pictured ferrule for sure, but that package is just hot!

I had suggested you contact Mark about a custom fabrication because if you must have a knife fabricated by the Fujiyama blacksmith, maybe said blacksmith will work with the stainless steel on a one-off custom basis. I will add, I have heard that particular gentleman is pretty overwhelmed with production right now, but you never know until you ask...
