 Post subject: Kono Fuji W#2 vs B#2 270mm gyuto

Is it me or does the B#2 version of the Kono Fuji 270mm gyuto look to have a more obvious shinogi line than on the W#2 version? The W#2 version looks to have no raised shinogi line in the CKTG photos. And are they both double bevel? Same thickness all the way down the spine? And has any one on this forum bought or own one? Experiences?

It's not you, they do have a more pronounced shinogi line on them. They are both double bevel so the construction is the same. They may have polished the blade a little differently or the steel might show the contrast more with blue #2 compared to white #2. They're using the same blacksmith and grinder on them so the method should be the same.

Interesting Kono would take a different approach to producing a B#2 version of the same knife. Do like it. Might order one. Gives the body of the blade definition.
