Here's the other side (I was going to say 'obverse' but that would attract pedants :-) )

Seabell, thanks for the photos! If you have time could you send one more with the knife edge to the board, so I can see how big the flat spot is?

Thanks again!

Hi bagadonuts,
I can, but please, not just now. I'm well into my sixth rum'n'coke, and if I go back downstairs I might break my camera or cut myself -or pour a seventh - and you wouldn't want that, would you?
Aside from that technicality, do I have to place the heel on the board and shoot the gap, if you get my meaning?

Jeff B: Thanks! Did I do something right (for a change)?

Seabell, yes, that's exactly what I was thinking - actually I'd like to see it not necessarily heel down but down on the biggest flat spot (which might start at the heel but might not). No rush! I have a sort of idea of the profile by comparing to the lines on the board.

Thanks!

Cool!
Let me tell you how that happened:
I studied this site, forum and shop, from top to bottom (OK, slight exaggeration, but not far from the truth) and, having summarised in my mind my previous two experiences buying from M&S, as well as my love of HARD steel - coupled with my focus on exactly how much my puny bank account could bear.... did some shuffling (around the K HAP40 240) and in the end just pressed THAT button...
Rum is a wonderful thing, but even in sobriety I am thrilled to bits with these three blades.

Emoclaus: I'll try if you tell me how. Is that a view up the blade from the handle end?

Careful with those lines - there are some steps in there if you look closely.
