kind of a stupid question..

Would a 150mm petty saya fit the moritaka AS 165mm petty?
if not what saya would you recommend?

Probably not, since a 150mm saya is made for a 150mm blade, and the 165mm blade would stick out from it.

Get a 180 or a 210, or even a 240 suji, and cut it down to the proper length....

This would require no more than a simple saw, sandpaper and drill for the new pin hole.

Don't mess around. For a little bit more cost than a generic saya, send it to Eamon (Burke Cutlery) and have him make a custom.

I know!!! :)

The Richmond AS is going to be a wa handled series that I'm developing right now. It's been a lot of work but we're basically trying to duplicate the stainless clad AS core knives that Hiromoto does but with wa handles. The handles are going to be magnolia octagonals with buffalo ferrules and these should be super popular. The factory we're working with has given me a dizzing amount of choices I have to make from edge finishing to logos, to heat treatment, sizes, shapes, boxes etc but we're pretty well along. It's a huge order so I have to get it right up front. They haven't started production yet so it's going to take some time.
