You can pull the suction cups off and screw the unit into a cheap cutting board and then you have a solid base that won't wobble or come up when you're pulling the knife off the platform.

I meant to say, thank you for all the ideas. What I'm probably going to do is take a board, drill partial holes in it and add lead weight. Then screw the Apex to it.
