I suggest never letting him see it again... or at least not until the tip punches though his back and out the front of his sternum. ;)"

With whatever respect is due ISIS, goddess of fertility, I have to imagine you chose to utter such ignorant comments due to your failing to read the thread in entirety. I should probably & more aptly chalk it up to them simply being words of a coward. I square off & look my enemies in the eye with honor & respect; I'll leave the backstabbing to those such as you...

Yikes ! :o

That's what I get for thread skimming in a hurry and occasionally indulging in my usual zeal for tongue-in-cheek free association and non-sequitorial creative exaggeration. Good knives getting damaged by mishandling is a recurring theme on this fora, and is an easy target for such. Clearly, my addition of the winky emoticon was not enough to make it extra clear that my post was off the cuff humor, not serious insinuation. That's one of the inherent problems with online communities - it gives a false sense of exaggerated familiarity, and due to lack of in-person tone of voice and body language, miscommunication is easy.

My sincere, heartfelt and humble apologies, for the unintended offense.

For the record, it's been a long time indeed since I've ever been deliberately mean to anyone, and this was NOT one of them. There's rarely a need for ad hominems, esp while wearing a moderation hat. Moderators are nominally supposed to help manage and diffuse such misunderstandings, not fan them. A little benefit of the doubt is almost always a good thing in life.

I guess I'll go find a salt shaker for my shoe.

BTW, other than visual coincidence, my forum name has little to do with the Goddess of love and magic. Link.
