We have a massive amount of Edge Pro products so we figured it would be good to have a whole section on how to use the machine and what to use on it.

The first knife took a little time, I also macerated my leather stop, I like the system but have troubles with skinny knives, hopefully will get better. Both knives so far are sharp though. I sure hope it works on my hunting knives..

Excellent. It's easy to cut the strop when you're first getting the hang of the machine. Ask questions if you have any and we'll try and get you up to speed.

Finally got the hang of it today. I mean, to see the light move on the edge is priceless. On a side note I have NO hair left on my arms, legs and chest..lol Thanx Mark..
I think I will get a hand strop, there is nothing left of mine. I find it hard to transition from forward to backward I guess. The stop collar is a must in my eyes, but you have to REMEMBER to move the arm with stone change. I forgot to move the arm up going from the DMT stone..and it was a real bear to get it back straightened out.

My 400 Chosera is wearing quite quicky. Am I not using the DMT stone long enough?
Another thing I found out today is that you have to take off the little white blade guide piece off for skinny knives..

Ok, the 400 stone will wear faster than the 1K which wears faster than the 3k etc..
That said, it's a frequent issue with new users that they over use the stones and waste them just because of not knowing when they have the edge and it's time to move to the next stone. I have no idea if you are overgrinding but just use the 400 until you get the edge ground and you start getting a burr and then move on. The 1K can cut plenty fast when you move to it.
When you ask about the DMT plate are you talking about flattening with it or grinding edges with it?

Yes the hairless arm syndrome is irritating to women it seems. Last 3 I dated found it odd
What DMT are you using to set the bevel? XC?

The finer side of the double sided DMT 2" plate..

You can use the dmt 2 sided plate to get the edge ground and then you only need very brief work to remove the scratches with the 400, 1K etc. Using the DMT will make your stones last longer for sure.
