I found this place: http://www.jonescuttingboards.com/
online when looking at cutting boards. With the price that low, I had to try it out! I ordered the medium board Cherry/Walnut End Grain Board (Cherry on the long edges and the walnut for the rest of it) with the rubber feet installed, came to just under $90 shipped, which is excellent for a 12x18x1.5" thick board! Took about 2 weeks and it arrived yesterday.
Feels nice and solid, felt good when I cut up some stuff with it yesterday. It arrived in kraft paper with oil spots on it, but the board itself was a little dry, so after washing it to get any dust off of it, using it and re washing, I will start oiling this up and using it more! Surface was nice and smooth, he uses waterproof wood glue, so it should hold up well!

That's a nice board. I love the look of walnut. Especially when oiled up, looks great.
I have a walnut board and I love it. It actually dresses up my counter top.

That's a heck of a nice board, Taz. I'd like to know how walnut and cherry stand up compared to maple in long-term use.

Tim, just ordered the same size, but opposite walnut cherry pattern. I've been looking at end grain boards for a while. I'll add to this topic also with feedback. Thanks for the find TAZ!

Nice board Tim, looks like a good usable size from what I can tell.

Yeah, the 16.5x17" board just doesn't fit in the sink well, the 12" square board is a bit small for more than 1 or two things. The 12x18 is a nice size and easy to wash.

Very nice board Tim, looks like a lot of board for the money.

Tim, are you copying my board setup?
. I've got a cheap cherry edge grain 11.5" x 11.5" board I picked up for $10 @ BB&B. My main wooden board is an edge grain maple Boos that 16" x 17" x 1.5". It's a bit harder to fit in the sink for me as well. The smaller one is nice, but not for any kind of prep volume.

Taz - Good to hear you like what is a very good looking board. I've have been intrigued by Jones boards since I first read about them on this forum. Thanks for the photos and quick evaluation. As a result I ordered one last night, same as yours but without the feet. And like Steve, I've been looking for an end grain board as my other boards are both edge grain (Adams and Boos). Can't wait now.
