Standing I can only sit for 20 or 30 mins tops and you know why. But either or if I sit it's my back if I stand its my "hernia" I have to sleep sitting because I can't lay flat so I recline the chair and get 3-4 hrs sleep every nite. Than I wake up and sharpen as quietly as I can because if I don't wifey wakes up and at 3 or 4 in the morning making noise go over like a fart in church. James

I usually stand when I free hand and I sit with the Edge Pro. I've been using the edge pro at work mostly and my free hand stuff I use at home in the kitchen.

I do all my sharpening in the kitchen and I make one hell of a mess some how and the wife loves when I seem to get the swarf all over the sink it cleans up nice though polishes the stainless sink real well no need for bar keepers friend but some how she doesn't see it that way. Not tom mention I get water all over the floor I will need to get a sink bridge one day I guess I have to sharpen and turn around and was the knive sharpen, turn around u get the idea. Do those sink bridges work? James

Does the sink bridge work?
Short answer is YES!
It takes a few minutes of getting the water stream right so it doesn't run down bridge over sink lip and on the floor. Once you get that down it is a breeze.
I fill one side up with water and soak my other stones and then use that water to splash the stone to keep them wet if need be.
The tojiro sink bridge is a tank like everyone say: all stainless very durable, definitely worth the money. Let me know if you want to try it! I just sharpened my work knives so it won't be needed for a few weeks.

Standing can only sit for a few minutes at a time at the most and my bevel is different for some reason when I sit so I stand till I can't stand no more usually 3/5 hrs is the max before the pain overtakes and I lose my zen and it's time to stop. Relaxing Bullman been stAnding for 4 hrs and I'll give u two tries at what I was a doing. Shouldn't be hard to figure out. Peace (health warning if you sharpen a lot and the metal gets stuck in your fingers it will come out while having an MRI)
