v2 core steel with stainless clad. I got this one a while back and it is a great knife. I am just not using it much. Before I picked it up, it had been thinned but had a lot of scratches from the thinning and the edge was pretty dull. I have cleaned it up a lot and it has been sharpened to a nice clean edge. It has a chestnut handle and with buffalo horn. Which was an upgrade. You can see a small chip in the buffalo horn in a couple of the shots. Great performer and light at 194 grams. $175 shipped with original box

That's what I was worrying about. These things stock are TALL.

Damn this is super tempting.

This one was just sharpened by Dave Martell and he did bring it down a slight bit. If you were to put a caliper on it. It's probably technically somewhere between 50 and 51mm...A solid medium height. It is quite comfortable.

I agree... 50-51mm is IMO, very nice on a 240. It carries so little tip taper the heel height tricked me though. It is now a very tempting knife to me presenting a unique profile, for sure.

May I ask if that heel profile was stock, or was that small section ground back to fix a chip or something?

As far as I know, the profile is stock. But, I picked it up used. So, I cannot say for sure how it was before I bought it. I wish I had a more complete answer. But, the knife is really quite comfortable to use. I like a "mid-height" blade, as well.
