Re: I need a recomendation edge pro tutorial

So I started on a couple of cheap paring knives. The sharpening seemed to be ok although the reflection of the blade was not completely even so i must have done it a bit inconsistently.

Just one question: I have the "edge pro custom full monty", can anyone tell me the function of the blank that is mounted in this picture (in my set its marked 125 micron). http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/chefknivestogo_2223_25022878

And two more questions:
1)I used the leather strop with diamond spray, now it has black marks on it. should i clean the strop and how?

2)There is an extensive thread about chosera stones cracking, how should i treat my stones to avoid this?

Thanks!!!

By the way RadRookie, I used your video to learn how to use the angle cube and drill stop collar, it was very helpfull. Thanks :D

Ok, so the leather with diamond spray will show black becuase it's cutting the steel and it's to be expected. Don't try to remove it. Just use it until it stops working and then spritz the surface once or twice with more spray.

Soak the stones for about 5 minutes and as Rookie suggests, use light pressure on the stones as you sharpen. Torque on the stone using pressure is the number one reason they crack but it's still not very common considering the thousands and thousands of stones we've sold over the past 3 years.
