Well the stone I showed is rather large - about 12 pounds!

I have a range of Aotos - including various TYPES of aoto. All but the second largest aoto are Aono Aoto.

"I need to learn how to 'work the mud' now to get exactly what I'm looking for on each knife :) Ken or Mark do you have any videos on that?"

It's a different stone - A Hakka Tomae - which is a finer stone but also quite muddy. This would be an example of working the mud.

"me 2...I have a vintage Aoto and it is most definitely the best stone that I have. Just need a good 6-8k stone at the moment."

A good followup stone for the Aoto is a Meara stone in this range. A good bit harder but extremely versatile.

If anyone needs more detail and instruction, just contact me.
