Home Made Leather Strop

Sun Dec 23, 2012 5:41 am

Wanted a cheap strop so I bought a 3"x54" 6/7 oz leather blank.
Found a 1"x6" board in the shed and ripped it down to 3".
Cut a 9" piece of board and glued some leather to it.
Used it on a knife and I must say, I think I'm going to like stropping!
For $18 I have enough leather to make 6 - 3"x9" strops.

Good old fashion Tightbond Wood Glue. Coated both surfaces, let dry a few minutes and lay the leather across the board and lined up. I clamped the strop between two other boards and let set overnight.
