Ho Wood Handle Finish

Fri Jan 11, 2013 6:04 pm

The ho wood handle on my relatively new (couple months old) Takayuki Grand Chef is feeling a little rough/unfinished in a couple spots.

I have read on the forums about various ways of maintaining ho wood however, I wanted to see if an alternative would suffice so I don't have to buy new products.

I use a combo mineral oil and beeswax solution on my cutting boards and sayas... Would this work on my ho wood handle?

If not, what would people suggest as the #1 way to maintain the handle (I've seen lots of different options out there and am trying to sort through and identify the best).
