Help identifying this Japanese Petty knife

Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:58 pm

Can anyone hear read Kanji?
I picked up this Petty knife at a local estate sale.
The blade is 180MM long, the handle appears to be laminated chestnut, and is V shaped on the bottom.
The full tang is visible on the top of the handle.
It's stainless steel, that is what the bottom set of Japanese characters inside the rectangular box says.
I do not know what the top set of characters says.
3 Kanji characters on the blade, can anyone tell me what they say?
I have polished and sharpened the blade, it cuts pretty good, I use it for boneless chicken breasts, or slicing smaller veggies.
Any help would be appreciated.
