, and she weighs 156 grams. My 210 & 240 <--link
are about three years old, and with regular oiling, the cherry wood has morphed into one of the most gorgeous handles I could ever imagine. The old Suisins still take the cake for me, but these have such beautiful shading & grain... they are a close second. They have a good solid secure feel in hand, as well. Their Wa'a are much thinner than the Teruyasu <--link
with less taper, if any at all; very Konosuke-like. That said I have the Kanehiro gyutos in 210 & 240 while I only have the Teruyasu in 240. The 210 might be different.?!
When I was first using my Teruyasu (240), I did think to myself that the knife made me think of my Kanehiro. There are similiarities, but even though that's for another thread, I will say the Kanehiro feels thinner in the blade. I just looked to confirm that, and although the Wa's are that disparate, the blades are closer in thickness then they feel. The pronounced convex on the Teruyasa makes it feel thicker though it (Teruyasu) still feels lighter, smaller, more nimble in hand. The Teruyasu is just a badass! Enough of that.
