With coarse stones it a problem with the abrasive size, with fine stone its the mud and suction effect. It's not true with all stones but even with a stream of water a plate will still stick to the green brick and besides being a pita could cause damage to the plate. I've used a DMT 120 many times and a grooved flattening stone simply works better with the green brick.
