i myself have my sights targeted on a few of those artifex knives as well. after playing around with the tojiro. =D

I sent this to you a couple days ago, and didn't hear back. I have a few more questions:
How does the Damascas perform vs the Laser. Other than being thicker, which do you prefer, and why?
What are the benefits of the Damascus other than looks?
Last question: how sharp is the Damascus from the factory, or will I need to sharpen it (do you provide any professional sharpening?)?

I like the Damascus one better because it's pretty.
Unless you're a good knife sharpener odds are these will be the sharpest knives you've ever used right out of the box. You don't need to have these finish sharpened.

So it sounds like the way to go is to get my father the Artifex 210 gyuto and a Tojiro DP 150 petty (or vice versa). That way he gets the best of both worlds for a starter set. Thanks for your help.
