Well today I spent a half hour on it.
First sharpen 1K, then 2K sharpen, then strop on 2K. Then strop on 5K, and finally strop on 8K.
Finished stropping on balsa with 1K micron diamond spray
Leather strop with black compound
Finish on bare horse leather.
The edge is now much more refined. It cuts like a friggin MONSTER!
This is my first 240MM gyuto, pretty soon it should become my favorite.

Do you prefer better edge retention in heavier or lighter blades? Just looking for clarification. The Goko damascus/hammered damascus is about the thinnest knife on the site. The Goko Wt 1 is about as pure a workhorse as I own.
