Fujiwara FKM 240mm Wa-Gyuto?

Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:53 pm

I wanted some feedback. I've been talking with Fujiwara about doing their FKM Stainless Gyuto in a wa handle style and pretty much the same blade shape. I told them if they made it I think it would be a big success. They came back and said "put your money where your mouth is" and asked me to commit to 200 of these knives before they would do them for me.

You think I should give this a try? I'm basically asking for a push.....

Thanks Chris,

Can I put you down for 200? :)

We actually are going to have a nice yew octagonal on there with buffalo horn ferrule. Very similar to the Suisin which I like.

I've got the 210 and really like it. Bigger is better. Should be nice.

Fujiwara makes a good knife, ok steel with a great profile and a great price...I think they will sell easily.

My stainless western gets used and abused daily.

So far I've been really lucky and have not made a big order on an exclusive item and then no one wanted them. However I still get nervous when I stick my neck out on stuff like this.

I did pull the trigger so they should be on the site in about 6-8 weeks. Here's an item page I put up in case anyone wants to be notified when they're ready to purchase:
