Everyone knows how deeply I despise bling handles, and after much dissuasion from him "blowing these up", I recently got my 8" & 10" back from Mr. Delosso of which he fit simple Olivewood scales to.
Thank you, again Matt; they really look & feel great.

Matt did a great job. I think Olivewood makes a great looking handle.

I had waited a long time to be able to use Olivewood on something. You know me and handles; I think the bling is a waste. The wood on these 60 year-old knives was crumbling off though so they had to be replaced, and I finally had my chance to use my favorite Olivewood. This wood is REALLY dark, though; I love it when it's light like these:

Classic look, I like the interesting grain of the Olivewood. It almost has a burled finish. I am surprised that more custom handle makers don't use olive wood . Very nice! Is it easy to work with Matt?

Those handles look great and very functional. Just the ticket for a classic Forgecraft.
Matt De Losso does very good work, he did my Richmond AS Suji.
Good work however comes at a price. I can certainly understand Mel's disdain for "bling" handles.
I am proud to own my one "bling" knife.
Next time however I decide to drop serious cash on a chef knife I am putting the $$ in the blade, not the handle.

That's beautiful, I'm jealous lol. Olive wood is one of my favorite species of wood but I've not found any place to buy a block for a handle.
