Flattener and holder.

Tue Sep 25, 2012 4:41 pm

Hi Mark

Sorry for the delay but just to let you know that your shipment to Las Vegas worked out perfectly and I am now enjoying my new Takeda Knife plus sharpening stone. Thanks for making this happening. The knife is simply superb although I am still trying to get used to the super light weight of it.

So now, I am coming to you again for more recommendations before I make the next order.

I need a flattening plate for my stone as well as a stone holder (sink bridge type is probably the most logical) . There are several options here but I just like to go with your recommendations on that since you know best.

Once I sort out the above I also will order an other Takeda knife (thinking about the 140 mm Bann Petite) and I also like to add the Takeda Handheld Wetstone.

So look forward hearing from.

Regards Walter

Hi Walter,

The DMT XXC is the flattener I use. It's good, flat and will last a long time. It works well for quick reprofile work too.

There are several options for a holder. If you want to use a sink bridge for sharpening I use the Naniwa Sink Bridge:
