Fit and Finish on the Tojiro ITK

Thu Nov 01, 2012 9:02 am

Hi, could you tell me how the Tojiro ITK is? Hows the F&F, is it a good knife all around, or just a good knife for the fact that its incredibly cheap, but an easy one to outgrow?
Is the nakiri single or double bevel?

How does it compare to your own Artifex?

The deal on the Tojiro ITKs are they have a nice piece of steel and they're dirt cheap which makes them a really good deal. Fit and finsih are what you would expect for a low budget knife. It's not that great. Most people are willing to overlook this because the knives are fun and inexpenive and sharpen up really well. Don't expect a Konosuke type experience with a budget knife like this.

My knife has better fit and finish and good steel. The handle is more durable but kind of boring. If you are a good knife sharpener you will really appreciate AEB-L steel with good heat treatment. I think you would enjoy it.
