This is more of a "just out of curiosity" post as I recently splurged on a TKC 210MM and a Haruyuki/Akifusa 240, but I was curious if anyone has had a chance to play with, or knows anything about the Echizen 1310 knives. I can guess that most on this forum probably hate the metal handles, but the multi-layer construct intrigued me. Plus, I believe Saji had a strong hand in their development. I called KM who retails these in US to ask a sales rep what the deal was. Rep said people either love them, or think they are way too thin and light for their preference. Weight and thickness are pretty much in laser territory, but the multi-layere vg10/vg2 construct leaves me wondering how they will hold up. Any thoughts?

Posted a few links on a different thread where a bunch of us were talking about the merits, or lack thereof, to coreless damascus construction. Here's a link though:http://www.knifemerchant.com/products.asp?manufacturerID=298
