One of my favorite finishing stone edges comes from the Meara JNat.

I totally love the edge it leaves but to me, the stone feels a little too hard and has a sort of slightly glassy quality to its feedback.
Now I know many like this feel, so this post not about the feedback being fight or wrong, but simply about my personal preference.
For reference purposes, my idea of the perfect feel for a finishing stone is the Rika 5K.

Anyways, in the past I tried a bunch of different slurry stones on the Meara. I tried slurry stones made out of natural stones including the Meara and the Aono Aoto. I also tried some made out of synthetic material harvested from 3k, 4k, 5k and 6K stones.

All of them effected the resulting edge in interesting and cool ways, and all of them effected the feel of the Meara to some degree, but I never found a slurry stone that really gave me the feel I was after....... Until now :)

This past week I got a

The DTM slurry stone hit the nail on the head. Like the others, it builds mud, but it also does something to the surface of the Meara that makes it feel softer and increases its drag to have a sort of creamy velvety feel with this perfect sort of subtle abrasive drag quality.

Totally loving the Meara now.

That combo following the Ume 1.5k white stone ( not to be confused with the Ume 1K medium ) is what's creating my favorite edge on AS steel at the moment.

Glad you like that little slurry plate! The thing I really like about it is it generates mud from the actual stone and does not impart another stone slurry to it. I use it exclusively on my ohira and I like it a lot.
