I left a knife sitting on the blade table of my Edge Pro for one day, and it was not magnetized at all. The knife feels and cuts the same as it did before I placed it on the table.

Dullblade...
With the 46# magnets, did you use one or two of them? Did you place them across the end of the table or did you place them up and down on either side?
Thanks.

I placed one magnet on each side of the underside of the blade table approximately 1 1/2 inches from table edge, (not sure if that is optimum placement). I have been using strong double sided tape, but glue would work better when you are sure where you want to place the magnets. It might be best to experiment with magnets of different strength from approximately 30 to 45 pounds of pull, since the magnets are inexpensive. The magnets with 45 pounds of pull seem to work for me.

Dull blade, did the Magnets fit in the little slot between the support legs? I bought several sets from home depot and none seem to have enough power to really "grab" the blade through the table. If you could point me to the ones you bought on that web site I would be grateful. Thanks! Russ

Thanks P, that one is sold out in Bangor but I will keep my eye out. Pretty strong? They had an three pack of rings from same brand that were kinda gutless. Once again, thanks for photo. First day using the collar. Sure helps. Russ

Bluefish, I have pictures posted on my January 12, 2013 post in this thread which show where I placed the magnets. I purchased the magnets from magnet4sale.com. Their shipping rate was reasonable. For me magnets with approximately 45 lbs of pull worked well. I believe that 30 lbs might work also, but less than 30 probably won't work. I wouldn't go stronger than 50 lbs of pull, as stronger magnets are more difficult to handle and easily shatter.
