Now that I have had the Atoma for a few days, I have some more comments:
Knowing how much I have enjoyed the EP version of the plate, I decided to try the full sized version on some knives free handing. Keep in mind that the majority of the knives that are brought to me for sharpening looked like they've been dragged behind a car for a few miles, so the bevels/edges are in terrible shape.
The 140 was superb on the 3 knives I just did, raised the burr rapidly, I went from that to the DMT XC and right to a 1k stone. Truly impressive addition to my sharpening line up, and a great time saver. This will reduce wear and tear on my 400 Chosera and 500 SG. ( I realize that this is old news to many who have long since understood the benefit of the Atoma plates. I am just very happy that they are available right here now.

Cool.....now you need the Atoma 400#/600# & 1200# then you do not need stones at all........

I can't get the 600# here but the 400 and 1200 are both avail.

Now that I made the front page of the local paper I'm going to need them:

I sent this one to you Rook so you can call me a braggart again :)

Go ahead, you can call me a braggart now, bring it on.

(it's a pretty small paper man, but has definitely increased business for me). During the interview, I am sure that the words, "Chefs Knives to Go", "Ken Schwartz", "Nanocloth", "EP", "Atoma", "Mark Richmond", "Michiel", all those words came out more than once....funny we never talked about MadRookie though :)
