I have his 165mm Nakiri, and the 300mm Yanagiba, and I couldn't be more pleased, even right out of the box.

Having said that, I am both an abject noobie, and an amateur kitchen person, but with lots of experience since I'm an old guy.

ETA: Every time I use the nakiri, I get a big grin on my face, and the yanagiba and I are still learning about each other, but if my sashimi is not beautifully sliced ... it isn't the knife which is the problem.

wow thanks alot for the recommendations. that kamo and yoshimune are nice looking knives as well

I personally have had a Goko damascus knife and it's pretty good for its price
