Yeah, similar to Neoprene IIRC, a very hard rubber material. Not sure how glues will hold up to it or how easily it shapes since it can give.

May be best to take a Dremel engraving bit to the handle and scuff it up with that to get some grip to it? Or use a checkering file or something and cut grooves in it?

Yeah, scuffing it up would be best. I'll stick with sandpaper for now. :)

I was thinking more of using a wood or micarta handle with checkering such as that used on pistol grips. The custom guys use hand checkering tools, but I would imagine the factories are using cnc machines.
